Wednesday we traveled to Wabasha, MN to the National Eagle Center. The National Eagle Center is a world-class museum offering premier resource, Then our way back to Winona with a stop at Lark Toys in Kellogg, MN.

• Eagles can fly up to 30 m.p.h. and can dive at speeds up to 100 m.p.h.
• Bald eagles develop the characteristic white head and tail feathers by 4-6 years of age
• Fledgling eagles learn to fly at three months of age
• Eagles live can 30 years or more in the wild
• Male bald eagles are smaller than females
• Eagles mate for life and return to same nesting territory year after year

The National Eagle Center is home to several non-releasable Bald Eagles and a Red-Tailed Hawk who were rescued from around the United States and rehabilitated here at the National Eagle Center. Our eagle ambassadors are considered non-releasable due to injuries sustained prior to their arrival. The Center is also a nesting place for hundreds of others who come for the winter.

Lark Toys is home to the famous fantasy carousel. The carousel  features magical hand-carved basswood animals and is a rideable work of art. Once you see it, you’ll never forget it!
